Bengal Crossing by Fuz-Caforio-Art
Bengal Crossing
Acrylic on linen. 40 x 50cm. I enjoyed the challenge of making the water look believable without losing the "quiet" areas of the canvas. I'm happy with the vignetted finish of this small piece. All focus is on the cat.
Hanging On- Baby Orangutan by Fuz-Caforio-Art
Hanging On- Baby Orangutan
Acrylic on linen. 50 x 40cm. I've donated this painting to the Japan Wildlife Center and it will be sold to raise funds to feed and rear an orphaned Orangutan named "Bobble". You can go to the following website for more info and to make a small donation if you wish:…
Into the Herd by Fuz-Caforio-Art
Into the Herd
Acrylic on canvas. 61 x 61cm. Yet another "cat in action" painting. This one's a commission so I had to stick to the requested pose. I wished I could have painted it slightly larger... so many darned tiny spots!
Shaya! by Fuz-Caforio-Art
Acrylic on canvas. 70 x 60cm. "Shaya" means "to strike" or "attack" in Zulu. I've painted charging lionesses in the past but keep returning to this theme. I can't get enough of the focus and musculature of these amazing cats in action.
Approaching Storm by Fuz-Caforio-Art
Approaching Storm
Acrylic on canvas. 80 x 120cm. The title of this painting could mean one of two things: The inclement weather, or the potential storm that the lion might bring to a pride of antelope.
Thank you for the DD for "Ghost of the North"!
I spent some time in a large enclosure with two captive male snowy owls- photographing and observing them. At first they were somewhat agitated by my presence and flew over my hunched form in a threatening way. After a while, when they realized I wasn't presenting any danger to them, the quietly took position in the furthest corner away from me, watching me with those magnificent yellow eyes. I sat there with a huge grin on my face, exhilarated by the experience. My most profound memory is of how quiet the owls were in flight- their wings hardly making any sound at all! With "Ghost of the North", I tried to capture that moment of silent flight with the wraith-like owl suspended in space.
