One of my favorite parts of this piece is that there's little to no background. Many, many talented artists are so determined to make the piece exactly like their reference that they paint/draw in that fuzziness in the photo. But your work is very refreshing because, by foregoing the unnecessary details of the background, the detail used to accentuate the subject is all the more powerful. Thank you for sharing your work!
I can't help but picturing this in sequence; first the cub spots the butterfly, then he starts playing with, batting it all around, then lastly, we see him grinning triumphantly with the 'prey' in his mouth.
you did it again! I'm soooo impressed by your skills! besides the uebercute "baby" i love the butterfly and how you show the the movement btw: never heard of it. sorry...what is Belgian linen? Does it have another structure and is it still a canvas?
